Then you can post your artwork in the Facebook Group of the Character Design Challenge as well (remember that you can post only a single artwork for each challenge). Due to the large number of active members and the high amount of artworks submitted in the Character Design Challenge, we must ensure that all the entries featured in our Facebook group meet a basic standard of draftsmanship and presentation. Designs from beginner artists that don't meet the basic quality expectations of our community, will unfortunately not be approved in the group. Also, designs that intentionally don't try to ''push the envelope'' (sticky figures, for example) or in which the subject of the drawing hasn't been properly researched, will not be accepted. Subjectively isn’t the only YouTube channel that is on this list, but it is a great example of a whole genre of art-focused channels on the platform that deals with character design specifically. This channel is useful for periodic inspiration and fun discussions about how and why character designers make the choices they do. For in-depth dives into specific styles, the videos go a long way toward explaining what elements are key to those styles, which can help you figure out those kinds of elements in your work.

Please remember that only artworks based on our current theme can be posted in our Facebook group. Fan-arts/Re-design challenges constitute a healthy and fun exercise for every character designer. Aside from producing some of the funniest-looking fighters of all time, Soulcalibur VI’s character creator is better than it has any right to be. While it may not have the most visually attractive character creator, Bloodborne makes up for it with a wide selection of striking facial and body options. Black Desert Online has one of the most in-depth character creation tools, going as far as to let you make fine adjustments to your character’s hairstyle length and apply highlights. The Sims 4 Create-a-Sim tool is the best version to date, allowing you to sculpt faces to your heart’s desire, change body shapes, and pick your preferred clothing style for different events.
City of Heroes/Villains was shut down before its time and took with it one the greatest character creation systems ever devised. Basically any WWE game with the Create a Wrestler creation tool will provide you with hours of enjoyment when it comes to character creation. There are so many tools to choose from, including custom titles, logos, and accessories. If you play The Sims 4 with mods, you’re going to get a lot of cool options for your characters. The game uses pre-made face parts and sliders to give players the freedom to create almost whatever Human, Elf, Dwarf, or Qunari they can imagine.
The winning artworks are selected by us for their creativity, aesthetics, and storytelling. A design that has gained only a few likes has the same chance of becoming a winner as one with hundreds or thousands of likes. Facebook's 'likes/reactions' are also not taken into consideration when we create the queue for the daily re-posts for the social media pages of the Character Design Challenge on Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter. Old designs that perfectly match the current theme are still relevant for us and the community and can be posted in the group. No, your design for the Character Design Challenge must be based on the “Theme of the Month”. Initially released in 2012, the original Dragon’s Dogma’s character creator was very much ahead of its time, presenting players with a whole host of customization options for their head, body, and more.

This allows for some surprisingly detailed recreations of popular characters as well as some nightmarish ones from throughout pop culture. Beyond that, the game offers an impressive wardrobe selection and tools for further editing your clothing’s appearance, including the option to wear no clothes at all.
